Apple Blossom Sunday

And I am stuck at work. I am off at three so that still leaves a little of the afternoon. Sarah and Connor are helping at the Scotian Gold family fun day, with the 4H club, so I will stop there after work. Connor went to his friend from his hockey team in Bridgetown overnight Fri. They went golfing yesterday afternoon. Just the two of them. He thought that was so cool. Then he said" it is customary to have a snack and drink after golfing in the club house" I would love to have been there listening to the conversation at the table. Yesterday was Sarah's dance recital. She was doing two numbers, a hip hop and a jazz dance. She did well, and has only been doing this since Nov. However there were 58 other dances so the entire recital was 41/2 hours long. Yup! I said 41/2 hrs on a beautiful Sat afternoon. It was at Horton High. This was the first time I have ever been at Horton. It is a P3 high school which means it is beautiful and has only the best in technology and everything else, while other high schools have buildings that are falling apart and are so old they should be torn down. Why should one area have it all and another have nothing???? Who says we do not have 2 tier systems in NS.

Hey Josee... have you been to West Kings lately? It has had an amazing face lift lately, and would be well worth a walk through to see the major improvements. I too, have been annoyed in the past at the unfair treatment towards schools, and was insanely jealous of Horton, because both my kids attended WKDHS while it was still a rundown rut of a highschool. But the renovations have been on going for 4 years now, and they have replaced and repaired just about every inch of the school...just on time for Sarah and Connor to enjoy. You will be amazed at the improvements.

Don't even get me started... NKEC is a P3 school too.. They are nothing in comparison & let me tell you, sitting on the steering comittee trying to get a fair deal for "ALL" is quite a joke... ( yes that was a life time ago prior to Two Much Fun) & you will NEVER see another school like Horton because they spent 10 X the dollars on that school vs any others...just a little political... somone should have gone to jail for it ...deep breath... Face lift or no, you won't have the equipment & technology, dance floors & theater, cafeteria or labs with ALL the bells & whistles, or lighting, or.... There is nothing fair about our school communities just do the best you can to yell & scream for what you really deserve...
